Overview

The program covers hot work hazards including sparks, flames, heat, welding, cutting, grinding, soldering, and ignition of flammable atmospheres, hot work permits, gas testing, area preparation, combustible-material removal, shielding, isolation, and ventilation, fire watch duties, extinguishers, welding PPE, arc flash protection, cylinders, hoses, torches, and equipment inspection, post-work fire monitoring, delayed ignition prevention, housekeeping, SIMOPS, and emergency response, factory hot work controls for maintenance, repair, fabrication, and contractor activities, practical permit review, gas-test record interpretation, fire-watch simulation, and hot-work case analysis. Participants work through structured procedures, checklists, inspections, case studies, practical exercises, simulations, and assessment activities aligned with factory safety practice.

The course is designed for approximately 3 training day(s), with emphasis on hazard recognition, risk reduction, emergency readiness, safe operating discipline, and practical outputs that can be adapted to the participant’s workplace.

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  2. Apply hot work permits, gas testing, area preparation, combustible-material removal, shielding, isolation, and ventilation in realistic factory and industrial workplace scenarios related to Hot Work Safety.
  3. Implement fire watch duties, extinguishers, welding PPE, arc flash protection, cylinders, hoses, torches, and equipment inspection in realistic factory and industrial workplace scenarios related to Hot Work Safety.
  4. Analyze post-work fire monitoring, delayed ignition prevention, housekeeping, SIMOPS, and emergency response in realistic factory and industrial workplace scenarios related to Hot Work Safety.
  5. Prepare factory hot work controls for maintenance, repair, fabrication, and contractor activities in realistic factory and industrial workplace scenarios related to Hot Work Safety.
  6. Evaluate practical permit review, gas-test record interpretation, fire-watch simulation, and hot-work case analysis in realistic factory and industrial workplace scenarios related to Hot Work Safety.
  7. Produce a practical work output such as a checklist, inspection report, JSA, risk assessment, evacuation plan, PPE matrix, incident report, LOTO procedure, or emergency response action plan according to the course topic.
